This NSF project is a unique collaboration between the School of Education and the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The School of Education team is studying beliefs and practices of teachers and guidance counselors around engineering education. They are particularly looking at Project Lead the Way curriculum and training and how it influences school practice. The College of Engineering group is primarily researching the actual practice of current engineers and how they feel their education prepared them for what they are now doing. Both research groups are studying the background and expectations of beginning engineering students. Our two groups meet twice a month to collaborate on and align our research efforts.
